Ermewa SA and T3M join forces for the approval of new brake shoes
Developing intermodal transport is one of the priorities of the Ermewa and Open Modal groups today. Ensuring the availability, safety and maintenance of the various fleets of intermodal wagons are essential factors for pooling the flow of goods by rail, improving competitiveness and meeting the demanding needs of markets.
With this in mind, the two companies announce that they are initiating a partnership to carry out UIC (International Union of Railways) certification in SS (120km/h) and 1Bguconfiguration of new Problock J822 soleplates, which meet the challenges in terms of reliability, safety, performance and economy.
These in-situ tests are being carried out using six Sggrss 80′ intermodal wagons assigned to traffic between Bonneuil (FR) and Novara (IT). The wagons were made available at the end of March and will be subject to special monitoring by the operator T3M, the lessor Ermewa and the construction workshop Inveho.
The aim is to apply extreme conditions to these soles: transalpine traffic with high gradient, compact brake, speed 120km/h loaded and high mileage (over 200,000 km/year).
This project reinforces the existing collaboration between T3M and Streem.
For many years, the Inveho IDF workshop has been responsible for the mobile maintenance of wagons leased by T3M and operated at the Valenton terminal.
More recently, an order for the construction of 50 wagons – type Sggmrss 90′ new last generation (with CFCB compact brake bogies) – was placed with the Inveho UFO workshops (formerly Ateliers d’Orval) for delivery soon.
This collaboration is a fine example of synergy between two major French groups that work daily to accelerate modal shift and achieve the climate objectives of the Green Deal.
