Intermodal rail delivering complex logistics across Europe

30 buses have been transported by rail from Dourges (France) to Kyiv (Ukraine) delivered in just 3 weeks from order to final delivery

The operation was carried out using our 45-foot intermodal flat wagons, originally designed for container transport and adapted to carry buses while meeting strict European loading gauge constraints.

Thanks to the close coordination of all stakeholders involved, including Forwardis R2L, LDCT, Inveho, the entire logistics chain — from loading in France to cross-border rail transport and final delivery in Ukraine — was successfully executed within a particularly challenging timeframe.

This project is part of a broader humanitarian initiative led by the Île-de-France Region, involving the donation of 400 buses to Ukraine.

Following a first successful shipment in December 2025, with Ermewa’s wagons, this second operation confirms the repeatability and efficiency of intermodal rail solutions for exceptional transport missions.
