Railcar maintenance is a perfect example for successful circular economy
Last year, Ermewa launched a conference series, to ‘live’ the company project: ‘Ermewa 2022 – Track to SUCCESS’. The second event took place on 12th September 2018, at Palais Brongniart in Paris.
French expert in circular economy, Rémy le Moigne explained the global concept and demonstrated that Ermewa is a pioneer because of the maintenance, reuse, refurbish and recycle of its railcars. To go further, Peter Reinshagen - Managing Director of Ermewa SA - insisted on how predictive maintenance, using a combination of new technologies, is more cost efficient than preventive or corrective maintenance.
During the second part of the conference, John Felty - Managing Director of Amsted Digital Solutions SAS - described telematics solutions used for wagons, that allow predictive maintenance. He demonstrated how telematics can help overcome the challenges of maintenance and reuse and what are the benefits of predictive maintenance: extend component lifecycles to their full potential, increase efficiency (reuse) in the supply chain.
Finally, Cristina Turci - Project manager at Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) - presented a call to assist companies in that way.
